Figuring the struggle

This series was focused on issues surrounding various middle class and under privileged South African communities. I dealt mostly with subjects from the so called 'coloured" community as this is the environment that I had the most experience with. Each artwork is commentary on the various socio-economical, basic living conditions and gender issues such as the unrecognized role of the female within these communities.

Inspiration was sighted from everyday life within these monotonous kilometers of low-cost housing and shack settlements proliferating by the day. This is the site for the struggle, a daily struggle to live in a place where the sins of apartheid cause my people self-hate.
